HOME FAMILY YESTERDAY SOLVAY STARSTRUCK

Buster Major (left) and younger sister Irene at the Major house, 316 Sixth Street, Solvay, in the early 1920s. Also in the photo, an unidentified young man, probably one of Buster's friends.

Emmett Leo Major (in the sailor suit) poses with his sisters Maggie (left) and Lola in front of the Major house on Sixth Street in Solvay in 1900. His mother, Rose, holds the infant Billy Major. This is the only photo I've ever seen of Emmett, who died of diphtheria in 1906 at the age of 12.

John Major and his family (perhaps 1907). In back: daughter Maggie, wife Rose. Middle row: Billy and Lola. In front of Lola is brother Buster, with Irene in the foreground.

Major siblings Lola, Buster, Irene and Maggie.

That's John W. Major on the left. The woman holding the kitten is a familiar face from family photos, but her name escapes me, as does the name of another familiar face on the right. Standing to her right is Lola Major, and sticking his head into the photo, as was his habit, is Buster Major.
